Rodents. They mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Some people are utterly fascinated by them and adore them and have several hamsters, rats etc. Others find them unbearably creepy, and others find them boring.
Mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils, and guinea pigs are the most common household pets out of the rodent family :)
Do you keep rodents as pets? If so, what kind do you have? Also feel free to give tips and funny backstories, if you have them.
I have a dwarf hamster named Zimmerman (after Bob Dylan, woohoo~) and in all honesty, I'm slightly afraid of him. He's super buff for a dwarf hamster. I feed him right and everything and he just gets on that wheel and goes for like really long periods of time. He's like the Chuck Norris of the hamster family.
I have a rat. It's kind of funny how people think of rats as dirty and horrible, and bite. Yet, most rats don't bite at all, and are the cleanest animals I've ever come across.
I used to have 5 guinea pigs when I was a lot younger, so most of them were named by me. Spot got his name by his colours which were patches of black, brown and white. Smokey got his name by his colours too which were grey and white. Lucky was golden and white and reeeally fluffy, and lulu was black with a ginger stripe on her nose. Snowball of course, got her name because she looked just like a snowball. ^.^ She was the newest one that I lost about a year ago. :(
My brother had a hamster named Try, he broke out of his cage one night and two years later I saw a large light brown tailless mouse running across the floor. I'm pretty sure that was him..
