Sea Lion in the Big City

Around 4 AM when the Moon is the only thing you see if it's not cloudy, a tiny sea lion beached himself. He was spotted roaming the streets of California, far away from the shore. Scared, he hid underneath a patrol car, away from the curious looks. Animal care specialist Kevin Robinson arrived at the scene with his colleague and carefully took the sea lion by the flipper into the net.

"A lot of times, when we go to rescue these animals, they're not sure if you're friend or foe, so they go into defense mode. They give us a little warning, 'You don't want to mess with me,' and do a little growl", Robinson said.

They took him to SeaWorld where other rescued animals are being cared for. The pup is doing fine - he's lively, eating well. He'll stay at SeaWorld for another six weeks and get what he needs to survive out in the wild.
