When my family and I went to the animal shelter so that I could get a dog, I originally wasn't going to get Anni because she was a fat, greedy little dog who chomped down on my hair when I went into pen with her brothers and sisters.

I had picked up all of the puppies except for Anni, and they had all tried to squirm away from me. The lady working at the shelter told me to pick up Anni, and I reluctantly did. She stopped squirming and just let me hold her. It was amazing. The lady was like, "I think we've found a match."

She was named after Little Ann from "Where the Red Fern Grows."

Anni is a great dog. She is very loving to her family, but is also very protective and generally does not like other people. She is a mix between a German Shepherd and a Beagle. She looks fat, but she's actually very muscular and very strong. While she's not a huge dog, she has a very big bark which makes her sound much bigger than she is.
