Her name's Kyri- its pronounced KEE-ree.
She was rescued by my stepmother when she was just shy of a year old, and had just had a litter herself. None of her kittens were found. She was rescued from an warehouse where she lived with an abusive owner who would throw pipes and things at her. We don't know what he did to her, but she's terrified of being held, hugged, or having someone's face very close to her own.
Anyway, she's a beautiful Russian Blue mix, and she's the most unique cat I know. She lives with my father. She doesn't use her claws to scratch, ever. No one has ever been scratched, except by accident, by her. She has incredibly soft fur and is absolutely brilliant.
I swear on everything that is good in my life that Kyri understands English. My stepmother once lectured her about beating up the other cats, and she hasn't hit them since.
She's sneaky and amazing at hiding, and impossible not to love. I know several people who HATE cats, and yet they fall in love with her.
She has Hypothyroid, which is a disease where the kidneys slow down. As a result, she's extremely thin. She doesn't like to take her medicine, but eventually, she does because she has no choice.
